  17. Umm, I'll grant Don Knuth is a hacker, and has advanced theory and  
  18. practice in ways too numerous to mention here. But his style is horrific -  
  19. you can't explain algorithms in a mixture of flow diagrams and assembler  
  20. code. And TeX as a language is a nightmare, even if it is the best system  
  21. available for automatic mathematical typesetting.
